Caregiver Support

At Foothills Fetal Alcohol Society, we understand the unique challenges faced by families caring for individuals with Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD). Our programs are specifically designed to provide one-to-one support within families, aiming to enhance caregivers’ ability to meet the needs of their loved ones at home by promoting brain and body-based learning.

Our regular Caregiver Support Groups offer a vital platform for caregivers to exchange strategies and insights from a peer perspective. Focusing on self-care and practical coping skills, these meetings provide a supportive environment where caregivers can both give and receive valuable support.

Caring for individuals with FASD can be emotionally and physically demanding. Practicing self-care is paramount for caregivers to maintain their well-being and effectively support their loved ones. Taking time for self-care activities, seeking respite when needed, and prioritizing personal health are essential for caregivers in fulfilling their role.
